E-biking

In East Tyrol and especially in Matrei and the Virgental Valley you will find varied and well signposted e-bike routes. There are numerous charging stations. Washing facilities, a screwdriver corner and a base camp as an ideal place to store your bike are available free of charge. The local Outside team has lots of tour tips ready for you!

MTB tour to Kals Matreier Törl

From the bike cellar in the hotel, the route heads uphill towards Klaunz. Past beautiful farms and lush meadows, the trail first leads over asphalt and then along a well-maintained gravel path past the reservoir to the Adlerlounge, the highest point of the tour. From there, the trail descends gently to the Kals-Matreier-Törl Haus. Here at 2,207 m, the view of the highest mountains in the Hohe Tauern and the hospitality are a real treat. After a little refreshment, you have the option of cycling back to the hotel via the same route or returning to Matrei via Kals am Großglockner and Huben.

Iseltal Cycle Path

The Iseltal cycle path starts just a few minutes from the hotel. It leads over a distance of 29 kilometers, mostly along the mountain river Isel, to Lienz, a vibrant small town with a southern flair. You cycle through small villages and shady forests. The small bays along the Isel invite you to take a break. On particularly hot days, cooling off in the Isel is highly recommended. The route has hardly any inclines and is therefore ideal for leisurely cyclists and families.

Go with the flow! The Bikepark Lienz and the Bikepark Großglockner offer pure riding fun in alpine terrain. The single trails for beginners, advanced riders and experts are challenging, exciting and varied.
