Genuine enjoyment and top quality are inextricably linked. We select our food carefully and are supplied by many East Tyrolean businesses, because our gourmet cuisine is regional and seasonal. The restaurant at our 4-Star Superior Eco Hotel is also very popular with locals and guests from the surrounding area.  

 

Ingeniously regional - Delicacies from East Tyrol

The centrepiece of our hotel is the kitchen. Our kitchen team prepares delicious dishes with great dedication and finesse. We make our own bread and jams and pick herbs from the garden. We get the best meat from the Mühlstätter butcher's shop in Matrei. Organic milk, vegetables and fruit come from the region.

What makes a good breakfast? Everything that goes into it. Freshly baked loaves of bread, selected organic products from the region and coffee from the family roastery in Carinthia as well as homemade jams. Unusual smoothie creations with valuable vitamins. All prepared with love. For hotel guests and all those who enjoy a healthy and regional breakfast.

Snack in the Afternoon

  • Can you eat at the hotel even if you’re not staying there?

    We’re also happy to treat guests who aren’t staying with us to a culinary experience! Our breakfast buffet features regional, seasonal and many homemade delicacies. In the evening, the menu changes daily and offers a 6-course meal with a choice of vegetarian, meat or fish options, as well as other main courses and children’s meals. Here, too, the focus is on the highest quality and locally sourced produce. Special requests, dietary requirements and vegan dishes are available upon advance booking.

  • Can food intolerances be taken into account? 

    Our kitchen can cater to your individual requirements regarding food intolerances, allergies and similar issues. Please do ensure you let us know about these before your arrival so that we can buy the necessary ingredients. 

  • What discount is available for a booking that includes breakfast?

    The price for bed and breakfast is reduced by €30 per day for adults and €15 per day for children. 

  • What does half-board include?

    Breakfast buffet (regional and seasonal), afternoon tea (homemade cakes and soups), 6-course gourmet dinner.

  • Are there any vegetarian and vegan options?

    Vegetarian options are always available on the menu. Vegan dishes are available upon prior request.

  • Where do the ingredients used in the kitchen come from?

    Our culinary focus is on our region, East Tyrol. We make a great deal of our food from scratch every day here on the premises: bread, jams, herbal lemonades, cakes and much more...

    We are proud to have consistently been awarded 3 forks by the Falstaff restaurant guide for several years now.

  • What does the breakfast buffet include?

    Regional specialities, home-baked bread, homemade jams, fresh fruit, muesli – fresh every day. Fresh egg dishes à la carte.

  • When is dinner served?

    From 6.30 pm; last order at 8.30 pm.

  • Can I take my dog to a restaurant?

    Pets are not permitted in the hotel restaurant and buffet area. In the Barstüberl, a table can be reserved for guests with pets on request (limited availability).
